It worked Fine for me early in the season, especially around spring, but by the time fall came around it just wasn’t doing as well. Not terrible, just not as reliable as I expected.

I’ve bought Whitetail Institute a few times now, it just hasn’t felt very consistent from bag to bag. One bag will look totally fine, then the next one is clumpy or looks like the seed mix is noticeably different than what I expected. Maybe it’s just sitting in storage too long or the batches aren’t getting mixed the same, I don’t know, but it makes it hard to feel confident about what I’m putting down. For what it costs, I was expecting something a lot more dependable. I’ll probably be trying a different brand next season.

I’m sure I picked the right items, but now I’m second-guessing myself because the order showed up wrong again. It wasn’t what I thought I selected, and this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

I was really looking forward to getting this order, and the product itself seemed like it would have been great. Unfortunately, the package showed up busted, the packaging was torn open and seed was leaking all over inside the box. It looked like it had been tossed around without much care, which was disappointing considering what I paid. I do think the item had potential, but the shipping condition really took away from the experience.

I’m so frustrated with this whole return process. I sent everything back and I’m still waiting on my refund, but nobody can give me a straight answer. It feels like they’re just dragging it out and leaving me to chase them for money they should’ve already returned.

I tried using the site on my phone what a joke. Everything felt clunky, pages were slow to load, and it was just a hassle to get anything done.

I ordered from whitetailinstitute.com and the product did arrive in good shape, but the shipping was just okay. It felt like it sat there for a few days before the tracking really showed anything, which was a little ridiculous when you’re waiting on something you actually need.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, just nothing special. The packaging was fine and the product was as expected, but if you’re in a hurry, I’d definitely order earlier than you think you need to.

I put this seed mix out this season and it just never really got going. I did the usual prep, added lime and fertilizer, and we actually had decent rain, but it still came in thin, spotty, and kind of sad looking.
Maybe somebody else has better luck with it, but it didn’t work for me at all. Felt like I wasted the time and money, and by the end I had more weeds than anything I’d call a food plot. Frustrating.

I gave these seeds a try, but they came in patchy for me. To be fair, my soil is sandy, so that may have been the main issue. I just wish that had been made a little clearer before I bought them.

I tried one of their food plot mixes this season and, it just didn’t do much for me. Some of it came up, but nowhere near what I expected for what I paid. The deer didn’t seem too impressed either, which was frustrating. I reached out and mostly got one of those canned “sorry for the inconvenience” type responses, which doesn’t really help when you’ve already put in the time and money. Maybe it works better in other places, but for me it was a letdown...

Well... it took a little longer to get going than I expected, but once it did, the forage came in thick. The deer definitely started hitting it, so I’m happy with how it turned out overall...

I don’t know, I really wanted to feel good about this, but the price just felt too high for what I ended up getting. Maybe I was expecting more because of what I paid, or maybe I’m just comparing it to other stuff I’ve tried before, but the results didn’t really match the cost for me.

The site itself was fine to use, but the product selection didn’t feel like great value for what I was looking for. I wanted to compare more seed mixes and options for different areas, but I kept running into the same few choices. It’s not a bad experience, I just think they’d be a lot more useful if they offered more variety.

I planted it exactly like I was supposed to, and the deer still barely paid any attention to it. what a joke. I was expecting a lot more action than this.

I followed the directions on the bag and expected better results, but I only got a few tiny sprouts here and there. My yard still has big bare spots all over, so for me it just felt like a waste of my time and money

I ordered a bag for a fall plot, and right away it just didn’t seem fresh when I opened it. Some of the seed looked kind of dull and dusty, and there was literally more broken-up stuff in the bag than I expected.

I went ahead and planted it anyway, but the sprouting ended up patchy. Maybe I just got a bad bag, but for what it cost, I was disappointed and probably won’t order seed from there again.

I put this out right before we had several days of rain, then it got hot not long after. I was hoping it would still come in alright, but it just didn’t. The plot ended up really patchy, it was disappointing to see.

Maybe in perfect weather it would do better. I mean, maybe if the temps stayed steady and it didn’t get hammered with rain, it’d be fine. But where I hunt, the weather swings a lot, and this just didn’t handle it well. For the price, I expected more

I ordered a clover mix from Whitetail Institute it did come in good after we got a couple decent rains. The deer have been hitting it, so in that sense it’s doing what I wanted it to do, mostly...

The part that disappointed me was the weed control side of it. I followed the prep directions on the bag and thought I had the plot in decent shape, but by mid-summer there were still grasses and broadleaf weeds creeping in more than I expected. Ended up spraying and mowing more than I really planned on.
It’s not bad seed or anything, just wasn’t as clean of a stand as I was hoping for, especially for the price. I might buy it again, but I’d go into it with lower expectations next time, or maybe do a little more prep beforehand..
